Off The Market: Just Some Art

If you are in the market for some new art to liven up your place, go walk over to F & 9th in Penn Quarter. There is an empty store front that has a pop-up art gallery. The owner has been there for a while and is offering some good deals. His inventory changes frequently and it looks like he may be expanding. If you show particular interest in a piece, he will likely give you a discount. Bear in mind, I know nothing about art or what makes a great piece (but who really does?). These are just a few pieces that caught my eye.

Pensive Woman

What I like about this piece is the transition. Her expression is very clear but as you move down her body, it becomes more abstract. This piece would be great in a dressing area or bedroom.

City Scape

Everyone loves New York City. I like the vantage point and colors of this piece. This would be great over a bar area. Something about it makes me want to go out for a night on the town.

Orange Trees

This country road is whimsical and a little bit creepy. I like the play on colors. If you aren’t adventurous when choosing art, this is a good transitional piece. The landscape is safe but the interpretation is edgy.

Persian Rug

This beautiful Persian rug was casually wadded up on a table inside the gallery. I have always loved Persian rugs. My parents have them all over their house. What I like most about this rug are the vibrant colors. Pictures don’t do it justice. This bold rug would liven up any living space.
