Off the Market: Eclectic Columbia Heights Townhouse

I stumbled across this townhouse on today’s search. North of Columbia Heights, this three bedroom house is 1400 square feet with a private back patio. For only $3000 a month this is a great deal and yes, it’s available. Click here to see the original listing. However, I am featuring the home because I love the eclectic feel. Unfortunately this home is offered unfurnished. Here are my favorite features:

Walking into the living space there is a an arched entryway with a small ceiling light. The far wall has exposed brick and two large pieces of art span the full height of the wall. I like the contemporary art paired with the worn, ruggedness of the wall. It looks like one or both of the pieces may be original.

I love when people get creative with headboards or in this case, lack there off. If you have a beautiful wall, why cover it up? The rustic mirror perfectly compliments the exposed brick wall. The owner has mounted a curtain rod above the mirror. The curtains bring softness to the bedroom. The shelf above is great for displaying personal touches. I also love the glass door. Painted red and adorned with an antique door knob, this is an unexpected and charming feature.

This bricked patio is great for entertaining and a breeze to maintain. The patio is shaded by a large pear tree, providing privacy and much needed relief from the DC heat. I love how the owner kept the space very minimal and neutral. The earth-tone furniture fades into the space and doesn’t overcrowd. The owners have successfully created a comfortable outdoor space without losing the natural feel.
