OTM: The Junior One Bedroom

The junior one bedroom is interesting because it is often advertised as a “true one bedroom” but that is a loose term in the DC rental game. This is especially the case with “junior one bedrooms.” Don’t let the description fool you into thinking you are getting a spacious unit. Usually these apartments are the same size as a large studio. The appeal is that there is a designated sleeping area. However, with junior one bedrooms you have to watch out for a tiny bedrooms and not so private sleeping areas. It makes me wonder, if the square footage is comparable, which type of space is superior? A junior one bedroom or a studio? Here are two junior one bedrooms under 500 square feet in the Logan Circle are.
