1920’s Glamour at The Fitzgerald

Inspired by the era in which it was built, the Fitzgerald has a glamorous 1920’s vibe, reminiscent of Gatsby himself. I had seen the Fitzgerald on Craigslist before but the ads only had renderings of the planned renovations. When I was invited for a tour, I couldn’t wait to see the pictures comes alive. After leaving, I noticed a few things that make the Fitzgerald special.

First of all, the renovations are of an extremely high caliber. If you are someone who appreciates modern details, this is the place for you. Everything from the shower heads to the door knobs, are of the highest quality and were clearly chosen with care. All of the units feel like new construction but have the charm of the older building.

Space is another selling point. There is a lot of green space. The Fitzgerald is located on 16th street, north of Columbia Heights and west of Petworth. By moving a little further away from downtown, you are rewarded with tons of private green space and comfortable outdoor living. The good news is that 16th street leads straight to the heart of DC. Therefore you are getting space without sacrificing on downtown accessibility.

The last big selling point is that you can enjoy all of this space with your pet. The Fitzgerald accepts a variety of pets, even large breed dogs. There is private green space for them to run around and many of the units are spacious enough to accommodate large breeds.

Prepare to drool over these units. Original hardwood floors are combined with state of the art kitchens. Beautiful french doors open up to large balconies. Open floor plans make many of these units ideal for anyone interested in entertaining. I saw two spacious one bedroom units, each were around 750 square feet and one had a balcony. The studio I saw was about 500 square feet (very spacious for a studio) and had a separate kitchen. Studios start at $1650 and one bedrooms start at $2300.  This new building is leasing quickly so schedule a tour ASAP!
