Historically, The Wyoming is one of D.C.’s most desired addresses.

Scanning Craigslist today, I was encouraged to see affordable options still exist in Northwest. If you and a roommate are ready to ditch the group house, or want to try living solo, good options are out there.

My advice: the end of the month is the best time to check out Craigslist, as renters are typically required to offer thirty days’ notice before ending a lease. In the past, I’ve gotten the most replies from people when I reach out early in the morning.

$2650 / 1br – 600ft2 – One Bedroom Condo in The Wyoming/ Sept move-in (Kalorama/Dupont)

Today’s spotlight goes to a one bedroom with THREE closets. The Wyoming is one of the most beautiful buildings in D.C., and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. I pass it daily and find myself gawking at the gorgeous marble lobby, wondering what it must have been like in the early 1900s when it was first built.

This particular unit appears to be in good shape and comes furnished. Aside from the beauty this building offers, its Kalorama location is unbeatable. Work downtown? The 42 North/South bus stops right outside.

Why you should think twice: 600 ft 2 isn’t that big for a one bedroom. You can get more space at a similar price point in nearby neighborhoods.

$2800 / 2br – 1000ft2 – Beautiful 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Apartment (Dupont Circle / Adams Morgan)
The furniture in this post appears to be computer generated, or photo-shopped? Given it will be empty at move-in, this isn’t really a problem, but it makes me question the post’s authenticity. Otherwise, what a great price for a sizable two bed/two bath in an awesome location.
