WEDNESDAY

Today’s commentary is a little on the shorter side, but these places are all pet friendly because I am allowing myself to believe I’ll have the time to get a dog one day — maybe you are too. Or at least want the option.

$1500 / 1br – 575ft2 – Newly Renovated 1 bedroom with Private Backyard and Entrance (Capital Hill/Union Station)
What’s great: This is brand NEW. Great renovation, fair amount of lighting. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, just all around a nice upgraded English basement.
Why you should think twice: A bit of a walk from a metro. But, of course, there are buses.

$1725 / 1br – 608ft2 – Top Floor, Natural Light, Pet Friendly, Capitol Hill!
What’s great: I usually veer away from big buildings but this place is too affordable to turn away from.
Why you should think twice: East Capitol Hill can feel like a trek from the rest of DC.

$1800 / 1br – 750ft2 – Renovated 1BR in DC’s Vibrant Adams Morgan ZERO Deposit* (Adams Morgan/DuPont Circle/ Cleveland Park/Woodley park/18th)
What’s great: Excellent renovation, great layout in general. Of course, love the location.
Why you should think twice: Because they mentioned street parking I feel obliged to mention that it is painful in this area.

$2400 / 2br – 820ft2 – Two Level Living off H Street! (H St)
What’s great: Two levels. Good sized bedrooms for the square footage.
Why you should think twice: That kitchen does not look like two people can easily cook at once.

$2600 / 2br – 980ft2 – 2 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom Newly Renovated Apartment in Dupont (Dupont Circle)
What’s great: Is this real life? Affordable in a area that is crazy expensive. I love these streets because they’re still tree-lined and next to Rock Creek surrounded by big complexes.
Why you should think twice: I don’t love garden style apartments. Also be cautious of noise (trash collection, especially) if your door is in an alley.

$2800 / 2br – 1000ft2 – Hey! Bring your stuff to this 2BR! Zero Pet Fees! (Kalorama Triangle/Adams Morgan)
What’s great: Ok, another managed building. I’m a fan of WC Smith though. This apartment is big, has high ceilings, an updated kitchen, great floors, and closet space.
Why you should think twice: Those closets appear not to be in any bedrooms?

$2950 / 2br – 800ft2 – Sweet 14th & U St 2 Bedroom Condo! (WASHINGTON)
What’s great: I want to live here. Wow interior design makes a place so attractive to me. This place is furnished but (I think) it looks awesome and is in a location surrounded by everything so this could be a great move.
Why you should think twice: Doesn’t seem to have an option to come unfurnished. Second bedroom looks significantly less awesome than the master.

One more that I’m not entirely sure about with the layout/lighting/view and what’s a pro and what’s a con but it’s a great location and huge aaand you could be interested:
