$1750 / 1br – 750ft2 – Recently renovated one bedroom in Glover Park (2221 40th Place, NW, apt. 2)
What’s great: I go back and forth with this area as it’s fairly residential and quiet. As more grocery stores (namely Trader Joe’s and Wegmans) announce their next locations on Wisconsin Ave, this area is becoming more appealing to me. It could be great if you work in Virginia, drive, or like to take the bus to work. You can frequently find affordable one bedrooms in Glover Park in these house/condos. I love this one because of the floors and kitchen updates.
Why you should think twice: Again, residential area. After looking on Craigslist for other listings in this neighborhood I found one that was larger and less expensive without the updates. I think these upgrades are worth it, but if you’re trying to save it may be good to take that into consideration.

$1849 / 1br – 626ft2 – Perfectly Situated Condo w/ Den and Included Storage! (2032 Belmont Road NW)
What’s great: I’ve posted this building before, in addition to looking at a condo to buy for myself. This is bigger than either of those units. I currently love living just off Rock Creek and cannot imagine moving that far from it, so that really draws me in. Updated smaller kitchen, great floors, and a front desk with extended hours. Ample storage. OH and that closet, obviously.
Why you should think twice: The apartment seems big enough for a couple but that kitchen does not.

$2800 / 2br – 845ft2 – Spacious condo across from Potomac Ave Metro, w/Maid service included! (Capitol Hill)
What’s great: In addition to being completely renovated, the maid service shows that these homeowners care about their rental property. An outdoor fenced in patio/backyard area. Great location in the ever eastward expanding Hill/Potomac Ave area.
Why you should think twice: Small bedrooms. Doesn’t list if pets are allowed. Because this is a new renovation, probably not. Because of that backyard, maybe ask really nicely??!

$2950 / 2br – 851ft2 – 2BR/2BATH 1837 KALORAMA RD UNIT B $2950 (1837 KALORAMA RD UNIT B WASHINGTON DC)
What’s great: Another great unit with upgrades, this time across town. A little pricier, but a lot closer to tons more. Fact: two bathrooms in a two bedroom apartment helps with avoiding some roommate conflict. Looks like a big kitchen too.
Why you should think twice: There are no bedroom pictures nor are there any pictures of real windows. English basement with 10′ ceilings?

$2950 / 2br – 871ft2 – Bright and Spacious 2 BD / 2 BA Duplex in Kalorama / Adams Morgan (Adams Morgan / Kalorama)
What’s great: I’m clearly loving the two bedrooms today. Upping the game from the last unit to this one that has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two floors. And so much more light! Really interesting to see the differences in the two places that are so close and the same price.
Why you should think twice: One bedroom looks significantly larger than the other. There are roommate calculators to figure out how much more one roommate pays than the other which may be useful considering one is the master w/ bath.

$2995 / 2br – 1050ft2 – Historic Capitol Hill Townhouse in awesome location (10th & F NE (1 block from H Street))
What’s great: Cute townhouse near H street. Extremely well taken care of, has a fenced in backyard, and pet friendly. I really feel as if this townhouse flushed out so much of what I was aspiring to find for two bedrooms today.
Why you should think twice: Maybe you’re not a chandelier person. Maybe you, like me, really want that kitchen to be updated to finish off the beautiful space that this looks to be. No pictures of bedrooms or storage/closet space. One bathroom.
