TUESDAY

Happy Tuesday! Hope the rain isn’t getting you down. A lot of the best listings I found today have something in common: they’re along the Red Line. From one bedrooms to a home you’ll WANT to share, here are the best finds I came across today.

$1600 – 1 BD/1 BA – 600 sq ft – Sunny 1 BD across from Nat’l Zoo in Woodley/Cleveland Park – Available Now!

Nearby Metro: Cleveland Park (approx. .3 mile walk)

What makes it great: This price for a full blown one bedroom is tough to find in this area. Many studios I’ve seen top $1800 for this part of town. Rent includes all utilities, except electricity. Nice sized bedroom, galley kitchen, and two walk-in closets. Laundry rooms on every floor – and free to use! You’ll be glad you have access to the outdoor patio once it warms up again!

Why you may think twice: This stretch of Connecticut Ave. gets REALLY busy. If you get frustrated having traffic right outside your front door – you may want to find a new place, otherwise this location is top notch!

$2150- 1 BD/ 1 BA – Bright one-bedroom with parking in Adams Morgan

Nearby Metro: Woodley Park (Red) / Columbia Heights (Green)- no exact address given

What makes it great: The built-in shelving and closets give this apartment much needed storage space – and a great aesthetic! I love how you have the chance to display your items without needing bulky furniture to take up precious square footage. Private parking included – a hot commodity in busy Adams Morgan! All utilities also included.

Why you may think twice: The listing leaves a lot to be desired. While its a good start in your search – you’ll need to ask a lot of questions before signing the lease on this apartment.

$3000 – 4 BD/ 2.5 BA – 2800 sq ft- Great location and in wonderful condition (Takoma)

Nearest Metro: Takoma Park (approx .7 mile walk)

What makes it great: This is a great find for people looking to split the rent with friends. Split evenly, you could enjoy a room in this house for just $750/month. You may not even see roommates much – this stand alone home boasts three levels AND a finished basement. Everything appears to have been recently refinished. The enclosed front porch will be nice to enjoy – no matter what time of year it is! Amenities include washer/dryer in basement, a small paved backyard and off-street parking.

Why you may think twice: Sharing with three other people may be a great financial deal, but it can lead to a lot of frustration. Utilities are also not included – so that should be taken into account especially for roommates on strict budgets.

$2470 – 2 BD/ 1 BA – 850 sq ft – 2 BR, 1 BA Georgetown Apartment

Nearest Metro: Dupont Circle (approx. .7 mile walk)

What makes it great: No one ever thinks of Georgetown as a convenient place to live Metro-wise – but this apartment on the edge of Georgetown is the best of both worlds. Its close enough to walk to both the shops & sights of Georgetown – and the Red Line stop at Dupont Circle. Unit features hardwood floors and includes heat and hot water in rent. Laundry machines also in building.

Why you may think twice: Another post that provides too little info to sell this to you outright – you’ll need to check out the open house (tomorrow!) for a better look.
