Thursday

It has been quite a chilly week! I recommend cozying up this weekend and heading over to Craig’s List in search of your next home — especially before the craziness of the holiday season really picks up. I know I’ll be keeping indoors watching season two of The Crown on Netflix while I pack up my apartment this weekend.

herringbone
$2500 / 2br – 1200ft2 – 2 Bedroom Apartment in Shaw w/ 2 Large Bedrooms & Amazing Kitchen! (Shaw)
Why you’ll love it: If I were not moving this weekend, I’d immediately go check out this Shaw two bedroom. The kitchen is basically every person’s Pinterest board come to life! Herringbone kitchen floors, subway tile, wood floors throughout —  it has it all. At $25000 in SHAW, I don’t see this staying open for much longer.

What I don’t love: Street parking only.

Kalorama
$1950 / 1br – 577ft2 – Beautiful apartment in Kalorama! (2426 19th St NW)
What makes it great:
I’m growing tired of the all gray everything look most new buildings have now, but this place has done it right. Beautiful finishes, and located in a pretty neighborhood, you can’t go wrong with this affordable one bedroom apartment. Moving this time of year is hard, but this place is offering a flexible move-in date.

Why you should continue to look: This is on the smaller size of one bedrooms, and might be best for one person.

COHo
$5600 / 5br – 2550ft2 – Columbia Heights Remodeled 5 bed/3.5 bath Row House (Columbia Heights)
Why I’d choose it:
This massive Columbia Heights home is perfect for a group of roomies, or family. With beautiful exposed brick and beautiful curb appeal, you’ll love living here.

Why you should keep looking: A house this big brings a lot of responsibility, only apply if you’re ready to maintain it.

Basementhouse
$1250 / 600ft2 – Large furnished basement (Washington)
What makes it great: I’ve been seeing a lot of furnished options lately. Ideal for people moving to D.C. for the first time. This cozy basement option is a steal considering you’ll have all your furnishings included. Millennial pink fan? This house’s exterior is painted the prettiest shade of 2017’s most popular hue.

Why it might not work: While this unit is private with a separate entrance, you will have to share the kitchen with upstairs tenants.

That’s it from me this week.
