Thursday

January never seemed to come to an end, finally we’re in a new month! Typically Craig’s List is flooded with options the first day of a new month, but  the quality is lacking today. I managed to find a few good eggs for you, including one affordable Capitol Hill option.

wainscoat$1850 / 1br – 981ft2 – Unique One Bedroom Plus Sun Room In Mount Pleasant with All Utilities (WASHINGTON)

This is the most-interesting place I’ve found on Craig’s List in a while. I love the cool details and unique layout. The price is pretty unbeatable too, especially since there’s a playroom/potential second bedroom.

kitchen3$2137 / 517ft2 – STUDIO Space with Breakfast Bar and Bedroom Nook! (U St Corridor)

The price of this U Street studio is high, but because of a “bedroom nook” it will feel more like a one bedroom, which could make it an affordable option if you have a roomie. What drew me to this place is how bright it seems, and the awesome rooftop. Given there are so few options today, I see this one getting swept up fast.

capitolHill$1575 / 1br – One bedroom English basement located on a great block close to E Mkt (Capitol Hill)

Like all D.C. neighboorhoods, Capitol Hill rent prices are on the up and up. This one bedroom, English Basement is still affordable. The layout is a little odd, but if a low price is what you’re after, you’ve found it.

patio$1900 / 1br – 800ft2 – Beautiful Rowhouse in Pet Friendly Rowhouse (Adams Morgan)

Ignore the typo in this post, it does seem legit. No bells and whistles with this place, just a good price for a spacious one bedroom English Basement. I chose to feature a photo of the patio, because the photos aren’t great. This area of Adams Morgan is near a large dog park, perfect for pet people.

EB$1650 / 1br – 500ft2 – 1-bd/1-bth basement apt. for $1650 per month + uts. (H Street, Trinadad)
Another affordable English Basement, this time on H Street. We obviously love exposed brick here, and you get a lot of it in this apartment.

Looking forward to seeing what else becomes available this month. Until next week.
