What makes it great: It is no secret that rent on and around U Street is going up. If you think you can’t afford a piece of the action, consider this studio. It is only about 400 square feet and it’s carpeted but it has some redeeming qualities beyond its price. The fireplace and in-unit washer and dryer were unexpected treats. I was also surprised to see that the unit was on the third floor with pretty large windows. For this price, I would expect an english basement.
Why you should think twice: The carpet is a drawback for me. The kitchen is dated and seems a little bit cramped. No pets.
