Pleased with today’s selection – but not super pleased with the lack of square footage information provided by some of these posters. Not sure if I am ready to call this a huge issue by any means, but it would be extremely helpful if posters included that information. It is difficult to a get a sense of space simply through photos alone! Regardless, enjoy the properties below – some really great options here, all within a 10 minutes walk to a metro station.

$1750 / 1br – Top-of-the-line 1 bedroom english basement apartment in Capitol Hill (Capitol Hill)

Quick stats: [square footage not listed in posting]
0.6 miles / 10 minutes walk from nearest metro (Eastern Market)
The drill: Super affordable English basement in a super trendy area (Eastern Market). With this property you get a private front entrance, granite counters in kitchen/bathroom, W/D in unit, most utilities included in rent. I am especially interested in that floor tiling – there is a note that there is “radiant floor heat” inside – worth checking out for sure! Available furnished for just an extra $75/month, if that is what you are looking for.

Why you might think twice: Square footage not included in posting. Also, that bedroom doesn’t look incredibly spacious by any means.

Quick stats: [square footage not listed in posting]
0.2 miles / 4 minutes walk from nearest metro (U Street)
The drill: Really modern space here – cool! I like how there are high ceilings, and a very open concept for a basement apartment. Lots of natural light, it looks like. I do appreciate the modern touches at such a low price point – and VERY close to the nearest metro, U Street. Definitely worth seeing in person.
Why you might think twice: Square footage not included in posting. Also, it was a bit hard for me to get a sense of what the apartment layout actually looks like. Kitchen certainly very small.

0.6 miles / 10 minutes walk from nearest metro (Columbia Heights)
The drill: Really excellent price for a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom in Columbia Heights. The first thing that caught my eye about this apartment is that beautiful kitchen – I absolutely love the colors, lighting, and appliances. I also particularly like the flooring, AND you get an outdoor patio to use.
Why you might think twice: Square footage not included in posting. Not great if you aren’t looking for a 2 bedroom, but hard to think of other reasons not to like this property.
Quick stats: $2400 / 900 square feet = $2.66 per square foot.
0.3 miles / 6 minutes walk from nearest metro (U Street)
The drill: Really spacious apartment here, with some really great features everywhere you turn. I especially like the wood in the kitchen, and unique floor panels used throughout – check out that bedroom! The unite also is accompanied by a large gorgeous private patio – which includes bistro string lights, a gas and electric grill, and a dining table set.
Why you might think twice: Don’t – jump on this one fast. Beautiful interiors at a great price point, in an even GREATER location.
Quick stats: $2000 / 608 square feet = $3.29 per square foot.
0.5 miles / 10 minutes walk from nearest metro (Dupont Circle North)
The drill: An apartment at $2k in Dupont Circle? Yes please. Large living room flows in to the beautiful kitchen area, which features oak wood cabinets and granite counter tops. Decent kitchen size for a small(er) English basement apartment! I especially like the bathroom here – really nice sink, floors, and shower for you to use. great location, as well.
Why you might think twice: In terms of price per square foot, not as good of a deal as the Dupont Circle property above. I can’t really tell what the floor is (wood? tile?) – but it looks ok anyway.
