My mom and I decided to spend Small Business Saturday thrifting. She introduced me to small thrift shop that looks like a junk shop from the outside. The store is split into booths and thrifters pay a small fee a month to sell their best finds. I was shocked by what we found and even more shocked by the price.
Almost everything you see here, we found at the thrift shop. The tray, the box, and the leaf are all flea market finds.
We spotted the tray first. It’s a nice size and I love the studs.
I saw the leaf and had no idea what I was going to do with it. It was just something different and adds a nice sparkle to the tray. After further consideration, I decided it would be the perfect piece to hold a bar of soap in my bathroom.
My favorite find is the monkey box. I have to give my mom credit for spotting it. It really doesn’t serve a purpose but it is so unique. Sometimes those are the best buys!
I am a big proponent of putting things together that you love, regardless if they “match.” With a few Scout Guides and a silver bowl, this tray becomes a cohesive decorative piece. Ready for the shocking part? I bought all three pieces for $17. If you were to see this in a window display at a major retailer, I bet it would be at least three times the price. How is that for thrifting inspiration!
