OTM: Sights and Sounds

My little brother recently moved into his own place in Charlottesville. An aspiring director, he recently debuted his second film in the Virginia Film Festival. He used a French directing style that focuses on sights and sounds. His apartment reflects his creativity and love for film. Here are few sights and sounds from his first place.

He has a small brick patio where he likes to paint. I like the stark, rustic feel of the patio. The adirondack chairs are falling apart and thanks to my brother, covered in paint. The table and jug are HomeGoods finds. The bison skull is authentic- a souvenir from his close friend and roommate’s summer out west.

My brother’s roommate found the dead bison, dissembled it, and buried the skull. When he dug it back up, this is what was left.

I’m pretty sure iPods aren’t allowed here.

This is the kitchen wall. Many people do collages but what I like best about this is that there are no rules. Many people feel obligated to stick to a color palette or some other unifying factor- not Zac. This is a mixture of posters, hand written notes, and objects. Anything he likes, goes on the wall.

I have to brag about the leather couch. My mom and I found it at a consignment shop, in near perfect condition, for about $350. Can’t beat that!
