I had so many ideas for Melissa’s Dupont apartment that I wound up presenting four different concepts. Stay tuned to see which concepts made the final cut.
Marble and Metallics
Melissa told me she loved the interior design and home goods shop in Adams Morgan, Hudson and Crane. I mentioned she has good taste, right? That shop has beautiful things but I promised that by shopping around, she could save more and get more.
A Touch of Pink
The more I see pink in apartments, the more I love it. I think that a soft pink can almost feel like a neutral. Despite having a somewhat masculine apartment myself, I love encouraging clients to go for something softer. Looking back, you may be glad you had a girly oasis.
Industrial Chic
The first decision we made was to go with metal industrial chairs around the dining room table. Therefore I wanted to build out a concept that would compliment the chairs. The galvanized bins will be perfect for kitchen storage.
Well Traveled
As I mentioned before, the last tenant left some really cool vintage pieces. I thought it would be fun to build off of those pieces and create a more complete look. I had to fight the urge not to buy the elephant pillows for my own place.
