Hi readers, and happy Monday! I did my diligence this weekend in finding the absolute best deals, and here is what I came up with (4 out of the 5 1 BRs under $2k per month!):

Quick stats: $1695 / 840 square feet = $2.02 per square foot
0.5 miles / 7 minutes walk to nearest metro (Shaw)
The drill: Really great price point here – you have everything you could possibly need! I especially like the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, walk-in closet, and abundance of storage space. There is a separate front entrances and rear exit with security gates and a doorbell to boot.
Why you might think twice: Not a huge fan of the floor, but this is pretty typical for English basements. Also, doesn’t look like a lot of natural light, and the kitchen looks a bit small.
Quick stats: $1125 / 400 square feet = $2.81 per square foot
0.4 miles / 7 minutes walk to nearest metro (Friendship Heights)
The drill: REALLY cute place here. I haven’t really explored this area all that much, but am super pleased every time I find myself up there. I especially like the kitchen (with mosaic marble backsplash) and the multi-head shower and heated floors in the bathroom. WOW! Internet and parking also included.
Why you might think twice: 400 square feet is pretty small. 🙂
Quick stats: $2299 / 900 square feet = $2.55 per square foot
0.8 miles / 18 minutes walk to nearest metro (Dupont Circle North)
The drill: A bit more expensive than other properties, but it is a unique one. Looks like the apartment was originally the carriage house for The Biltmore. All of the interiors look really updated – I especially like hardwood floors and kitchen appliances.
Why you might think twice: Not much to hate here. It is a bit hard to tell if there are other apartments in the building, or if it is just this one.
Quick stats: $1850 / 850 square feet = $2.18 per square foot
0.2 miles / 5 minutes walk to nearest metro (Eastern Market)
The drill: Lots to love in this 3rd floor apartment (inside of a Victorian building). I especially like the abundance of storage space, natural light, and decently sized kitchen.
Why you might think twice: From the looks of it, there is carpet in the majority of the apartment. Not the biggest fan of that.
Quick stats: $1950 / 1000 square feet = $1.95 per square foot
0.5 miles / 11 minutes walk to nearest metro (Dupont Circle North)
The drill: Shockingly low price per square foot here – wow! The apartment has been recently renovated and paint/equipped with all new appliances. I especially like the large open living room, and abundance of counter/storage space in the kitchen. Don’t miss out on this one – it will surely go fast.
Why you might think twice: I don’t love the photos they provided – the panos especially. I don’t think they do the space justice.
