Happy Monday, readers! Today I didn’t focus my search on a specific region in the District or # of bedrooms – but I think that the properties I came up with are some great steals! Enjoy.
The drill: First floor (not an English basement!) apartment in a classic Capitol Hill townhouse – two blocks to Eastern Market, one block from Lincoln Park. This apartment features large, bright living room/dining room with Mahogany floors and a windowed bay overlooking the front yard. I especially like this property because of the bright bathroom, abundance of storage space, and enclosed rear yard.
Why you might think twice: A little confused by the refrigerator – that IS a full-sized fridge, right?
The drill: Charming, spacious 1 BD (with patio!) in Dupont Circle. This apartment features a large bedroom with fireplace and full bathroom. I especially like this property because of the hardwood floors abundance of natural light, and proximity to some super fun areas.
Why you might think twice: $2175 for 604 square feet of space is not an incredible deal by any means – but not the worst.
The drill: Location location! Steps away from Giant, Dacka – 5 minute walk to either Shaw or U Street metro. Really cute space here – I especially like the flooring in this apartment – nice and hardwood. I also notice a fair amount of natural light, which isn’t always abundant in English basement apartments. 2 bedrooms here – so you are getting a decent deal for $2250 a month!
Why you might think twice: Square footage is not listed, so it is hard to figure out exactly how good of a deal you are getting here.
The drill: 1 BR within walking distances of both Columbia Heights and U Street metro. Great kitchen, hardwood flooring in living area, carpet in bedroom – and a balcony! I picked this property because of the unique quirks to it – I like the accent walls, the patio outside (with a brick wall!), and nice-looking kitchen fixtures.
Why you might think twice: The photos provided aren’t great – I feel like this is one that might look much better in person!
The drill: 1 BR apartment in a friendly 8 unit building – with shared backyard. This is a great location on a quiet street – but steps away from shops, galleries, grocery stores and restaurants! This unit is on the second-floor in a two-story building that has plenty of light, a large bedroom, closet space, functional galley kitchen with tons of cabinet space. Really cute space here for under $2k!
Why you might think twice: 535 square feet is really not that much space at all – hope you are ready for that! 🙂
