Winter is a difficult time for managed buildings, so many places, including brand-new buildings are willing to offer great deals on their units to get them filled and off the market. I typically stay away from posting Craigslist finds that include move-in specials because in my experience, many of them are too good. However, with so many available today, I felt compelled to highlight my favorites. Moving is difficult enough, doing so in frigid weather makes it even harder. Hopefully these deals will make your experience more enjoyable.
This building apparently has undergone a massive renovation, and so the specials are being offered to get the units filled. What I love most about this place is that they’ve kept the facade in its original style. This place is perfect for those who love old buildings, but enjoy modern finishes.
$2550 / 1br – 605ft2 – Pet Friendly Luxury Apartments – Move in This Week! – One Free Month! (Logan Circle – 14th Street Corridor)
This building comes with some pretty impressive amenities (private pet grooming station, what?!). With luxury apartments comes high rent. They are offering one month free which might help with buffering the cost. I’d ask if the month free is applied over the course of your lease to see if you can bring down the price tag instead of going one month without paying rent.

I’ve posted units from this building before, and actually toured it in the past. Now this is a great deal to begin with and when you add one month free of rent, it’s a steal. The major drawback to this option is that it is TINY, at just 225 square feet, you may need to invest in some self-storage, or truly commit to the micro-living way of life.
Personally, I would never pay this much for a studio. Why I am posting it is threefold: the month free incentive, most utilities are included, and the fact that it’s just gorgeous. If you can afford such a place, go for it. Aside from a gorgeous kitchen, you get one amazing closet and a full sized, in-unit washer/dryer. Still not sold? Capitol Hill will forever be one of my favorite neighborhoods because of its charm, and with the recent addition of a Trader Joe’s the area will only get more popular.
$2100 / 1br – 1BR in Dupont w/ W/D, private deck, central air, and fireplace
Now, there’s no move-in special with this place, but it’s a good price for a Dupont Circle one bedroom that has central air AND a fireplace. I love the window nook pictured above, and you can’t beat having a private outdoor space. The one downside to this great apartment is that it doesn’t allow pets and utilities are not included in the overall price.
