Last weekend I stole away to Charlottesville to do some much needed shopping for my new place. My mom is my favorite shopping partner and together we find some unbelievable pieces. Together we have made the vow to furnish my new place with unique and affordable decor. Naturally our stops included antique malls, independent consigners, and the Habitat for Humanity store. We found a full set of silver plated flatware and a perfect vanity/desk at the antique mall- all for less than $200. Gasoline Alley, a small shop in what looks like a storage unit had a cool old perfume ad. The ultimate find was at a craft store on the historic downtown mall. I found a beautiful distressed mantel that is going to be the focal point of my new place.
