1835 Kalorama Road NW: $3145

Kalorama is one of my favorite streets in DC. It stretches all the way from 16th Street NW, across Connecticut Avenue, and stops before Rock Creek Parkway. Needless to say, there is a lot to love. Most of it is lined with beautiful homes and historic apartment buildings. 1835 Kalorama is a Fitzgerald Properties apartment building that has a grand feel with a more affordable price tag. Yes $3145 is expensive for a two bedroom apartment but once I go into the detail, you may be persuaded.

This small apartment building has only four units– one unit per floor. This is extremely hard to come by. Even better, each unit comes with one assigned parking spot. Those familiar with the area know that a parking spot alone can go for close to $200 a month. Once inside, I saw two units. One is vacant and has already rented. The second is still occupied but will be ready August 1.

The available two bedroom unit features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, hardwood floors, bay windows, central air, a washer and dryer, and non-working fireplace. That is a long list to rattle off but you can see by the pictures that these units have a special charm. One thing that may not be evident from pictures is the bedrooms are both large and comparable in size. One bedroom has a door that goes out to a fire escape. Not only are these necessary but I think fire escapes have a cool urban flair. I will admit I got a little woozy standing on it.

When it comes to utilities, tenants are responsible for electric and cooking gas.

If you are looking for a very private apartment on a beautiful street look no further. The only real disturbance you may have is from this guy. He does in fact sing very loudly.
