What makes it great: I shared a unit in the Red Elephant last year and I am glad that some units have opened back up. It features seven studios and is all about fostering community and honoring cool spaces. What does this mean? The historic building has great features like exposed brick, bay windows, and hardwood floors. What the units don’t have is a full kitchen. Rather than putting full kitchens in each unit, the developer put in a communal kitchen with dining room. In a big city like DC, I love this idea of creating a little community.
Why you should think twice: This concept may not appeal to those who want their privacy but the price is great.
