Incase you haven’t heard, there has been a lot of buzz about this building. The Hepburn popped up right behind the Washington Hilton in Dupont and for awhile I thought it was either part of the hotel or an office building. The building is ultra contemporary and sleek. While the first round of tenants are beginning to move in, I decided to stop in for a tour. I showed up without an appointment which is a big “no-no” for a building like this. However, I have to say that the staff was very accommodating.
Really the staff and the amenities are the elements that are going to sell people on this building. There is a swarm of concierges when you walk in and it seems like they are ready to assist you with your every need. If you are willing to pay the big bucks for a full service building, I think this is a good option. As for amenities, they have just about everything you can think of. There are wine lockers, entertainment areas with private caterer kitchens, a yoga room with an instructor, fancy gym, and killer rooftop. I will say that I was disappointed with the pool. It is more pretty than functional.
The apartments are amazing– if you can afford the good ones. All apartment have a modern feel, state of the art kitchens, spa bathrooms, and floor to ceiling windows. However, some feel very tiny given the big price tags. Overall the goal is to make you feel like you are living in a luxury hotel. This can be both a good and a bad thing, it just depends on what appeals to you. According to the MRIS, apartment prices start at $2760. As you can imagine, they go way up from there.
