I held an open house last Sunday in Kalorama. It was Adams Morgan Day so I was expecting there to be a decent amount of foot traffic…until I realized I was showing a fourth floor walkup. Despite the stairs, the turnout was good and it was nice to chat with buyers. The overall consensus from buyers, “It’s tough out there.” Buyers were trading horror stories of losing out on units that went $10k, $20k, even $30k over asking. In markets like this, it’s hard to stay encouraged. That is why finding a place you absolutely love is so important because odds are you are really going to have to go to bat to get it. This doesn’t mean finding the “perfect place.” Unless you are on all cash buyer, finding the perfect place probably isn’t realistic. The moral of the story is pick your battles but get ready fight like hell. Sharpens your elbows for these opens. Contact me for more info.
