Thursday

September has always been my favorite month in D.C., the weather is so beautiful, and there’s plenty to do socially (check out Adams Morgan Day this Sunday). Now that going outside is actually bearable, it is the perfect time to start searching for your new home. In today’s batch, I’ve discovered several multi-room units for those of you with roommates, and one one bedroom option. Hopefully these options will give you all the “bang for your buck” you need.

$3455 / 2br – 1064ft2 – Historic Row House Available Now! 455 Eye! Move In Special! (455 I St NW)
What makes it great:
With lots of space and great finishes, this recently renovated apartment is seriously pretty. With two large bedrooms and nicely sized closets, plus a brand new kitchen, I really hope this apartment isn’t too good to be true. The first floor seems to get flooded with gorgeous natural light.

Why you should keep looking:  This is a historic building turned apartment complex, so I am not sure that this specific unit is the one you’ll actually get.

rowhouse
$7000 / 4br – 2200ft2 – Top Floor Unit With Exposed Brick Four Bedroom Three Bath (Washington)
What you’ll love: This row house must have been massive when it was functioning as a single-family home. In the top half, you get four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. With so much space in one house, I am curious to see what the layout actually looks like. Another element I love: the exposed brick wall and in-unit washer/dryer.

Why you should think twice: It appears that the bottom half of the house is an English Basement, which will be rented separately. I would ask if the basement has it’s own entrance, and if the back patio is communal.

new
$3600 / 3br – 1464ft2 – 3 Bedroom 2 bathroom house in the heart of Columbia Heights ((Between 29-30 Blocks on 11st))
Why you should reach out: This is a very recently renovated house. Similar to the previous row house, you get the upper half of the building. In this house, you’ll get a spacious floor pan at a great price when split by three people.

What I don’t love: I wish they posted more recent photos, most of these pictures were taken during construction. Also note that they haven’t finished renovating the basement, dealing with noise and dust can be difficult.

livingroom
$3800 / 3br – 2000ft2 – Beautiful 3 bedroom row house with two decks in Mt Pleasant! (MT PLEASANT, NW DC)
What makes it great:
Another nicely priced three bedroom option for you. Mount Pleasant is a very convenient neighborhood, especially if you need access to a red line metro. In search of a cozy retreat? This adorable house includes a wood burning stove!

Why I wouldn’t choose it: The photos make it seem very dark, so if you’re big into natural light, this may not be the best option for you.

$1675 / 1br – 550ft2 – 1Bd/1Ba In the Heart of Adams Morgan (Open House 9/10 2:30-4:30) (1844 columbia rd #306)
What makes it great: I had to sneak this one bedroom option in today — what a great price! Like the last option, this unit includes a fireplace (I’ve got fall on my mind). You’ll also love the hardwoods and bright window trio in the main room.

Why you should think twice: Those who like to cook should look elsewhere, the kitchen is super small and looks dated.

Until next week,
Cara
