Good morning, readers! Welcome to the new work week. For today’s post, I focused al of my efforts on 1 BR properties in the Georgetown/Glover Park area. These neighborhoods aren’t the most friendly in terms of public transportation, but I am really pleased with what I found. Best yet, al properties are under $2k per month!

The drill: I think this is one of the best deals I have ever found. It is technically in Georgetown, but still very walkable to the Dupont Circle metro station. What caught my eye about this property (besides the price tag) was the abundance of natural light – you are on the second/top floor of a 3-unit townhouse. There are beautiful hardwood floors, a working fireplace. There is a parking spot available and pets are permitted
Why you might think twice: not much to criticize here! The kitchen isn’t massive, and overall the apartment feels a bit old – but nothing is super outdated.
The drill: Great location here – on the border of Georgetown and Glover Park. You are located around a fair amount of restaurants and things to do, with a short walk to M street for some shopping. What caught my eye about this property is the updated kitchen/bath, nice balcony (although not pictured), and beautiful hardwood floors.
Why you might think twice: The kitchen appliances are not super aesthetically pleasing, even if they have been updated recently.
The drill: WOW! What a great price. This cute junior one-bedroom caught my eye because of the beautiful interiors – I absolutely love the dark wood cabinets in the kitchen, for example. The apartment, even though it says it is a “junior bedroom” is incredibly inclusive and has everything you could possibly need in the space.
Why you might think twice: The listing doesn’t note how large the property is, so it is difficult to gauge exactly how good of a deal you are getting. I am also not the biggest fan of the flooring – hardwood floors all the way!
The drill: An even better price than the one listed above! While this property is technically posted as a studio, it is 600 square feet. What caught my eye about this property is its updated finishes – the kitchen appliances are a beautiful silver color (stainless) and the new bathroom has high end tile finishes. the location is a very convenient one, near many essential stops.
Why you might think twice: While it is large for a studio… it is still a studio. Make sure you are really ready for that type of living arrangement.
The drill: Boutique feel, tranquil location in recently renovated building. This apartment has a lot of great features such as a bay window, in unit washer/dryer and updated lobby. The abundance of space and sun in this unit really caught my eye – as well as the hardwood floors in the living area and bedroom. Always a plus in my book!
Why you might think twice: While the kitchen is large and has plenty of storage, I am not the biggest fan of its looks. Seems a little dated to me, no?
