Be My Neighbor

This week my building manager caught me and told me that there are a few openings in my building, The Norwood. I immediately jumped at the opportunity to tour a few of the available units. I truly struck gold when I found The Norwood, so I love sharing it with anyone who is in the market. Available studios and one bedrooms range between $1665 and as much as $1870. I know that sounds like a lot, but ALL of your utilities are included. Many of the studios also feel larger due to the oversized windows and close to 10 foot ceilings. There are also some breathtaking views of the National Cathedral and National Monument from some units. With this charm comes great updates like central air, stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, and newer bathrooms.

However, what really makes The Norwood special is the history. Built in 1917, The Norwood began as a luxury apartment building with only 4 units per floor. Today the building has about 15 units per floor. As you can imagine, these apartments were massive. This grand building attracted Hollywood actresses like Tallulah Bankhead who called The Norwood home in the early 1920’s. Today, The Norwood still has the same grand air.

Over the years, the apartment were divided up into smaller one bedrooms and studios. This resulted in many different floor plans. For example, my studio is whopping 630 square feet. This means there is truly a floor plan to fit everyone’s needs. Also, studios and one bedrooms are comparably priced. Some studios and one bedrooms differ in price by only $50.
